Volunteerism and Nation Building
The term ‘Volunteerism’ denotes a desire of any individual to contribute for common welfare, out of free will expecting no any material and monetary expectations. Volunteers are motivated by values like those of justice, equality and freedom (SWVR, UNV-2011). Volunteerism can play the significant role on development process of any society. United Nations General Assembly in 2001 passed the resolution on volunteerism and declared 2001 “International Year of Volunteers”.
